Position Title: Junior GIS IT Specialist (Esri / ArcFM)

Position Status: Contract (4 Months)
Position Description:We are seeking a Junior GIS IT Specialist with strong experience in Esri ArcGIS and Schneider Electric ArcFM to support enterprise GIS platforms within a utility environment. This role focuses on ensuring performance, stability, and scalability of GIS systems supporting critical electric and gas operations.
This is a hybrid role (2–3 days onsite per week) and is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a fast-paced, production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain enterprise GIS platforms including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcFM
- Monitor and optimize system performance across application, database, and server layers
- Troubleshoot complex GIS issues impacting system reliability and user experience
- Collaborate with developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-performing GIS solutions
- Develop and enhance custom GIS tools and automation scripts using Python (ArcPy)
- Manage system upgrades, patches, and enhancements with minimal operational disruption
- Create and maintain technical documentation, recovery plans, and support procedures
Required Skills/Education:- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience supporting Esri-based GIS platforms
- Strong expertise in:
- ArcGIS Enterprise / ArcGIS Server
- ArcMap & ArcGIS Pro
- Schneider Electric ArcFM
- ESRI ArcCatalog & ArcGIS Portal
- Proficiency in Python (ArcPy) for scripting, automation, and testing
- Experience in utility environments (electric, gas, or water) preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience working in Agile environments with minimal supervision
