CREW Carbon Overview
CREW’s technology and services make wastewater treatment cheaper and more efficient, while permanently sequestering CO₂.
Leveraging advanced chemistry, natural minerals, and AI, we’ve developed and are deploying a category-defining process intensification technology, with decarbonization at its core. Today, we help wastewater treatment facilities and operators:
- Improve the efficiency of existing, legacy infrastructure
- Eliminate hazardous chemicals & reduce operational costs
- Avoid $100M+ infrastructure upgrades
- Capture & Store CO₂
We are currently deploying this technology across the US. In addition, we’ve signed $33M+ in carbon removal offtake agreements with leading corporations — including JP Morgan, Google, and Stripe — looking to meet their climate goals, supercharging CREW’s expansion.
CREW has offices and labs in New Haven, CT and Brooklyn, NY.
Position Overview
As the Chief of Staff, you will support the CEO and help drive disciplined execution across the company. You will focus on supporting the CEO’s office in translating strategy into structured plans and action, coordinating execution frameworks, strengthening project tracking and dashboards, and ensuring accountability across teams.
The Chief of Staff will serve as a force multiplier for the CEO: clarifying priorities, reducing cross-functional friction, and helping the organization scale with rigor as we deploy.
This position is a full-time role onsite at our office in Brooklyn office with travel 10–20% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Support the CEO to drive execution discipline across the company and help translate strategy into organized action.
- Act as a trusted force-multiplier for CEO, driving organizational alignment to ensure priorities are met with speed and precision.
- Implement planning frameworks (annual planning, quarterly OKRs, execution tracking, dependency tracking) company-wide and at the team level.
- Introduce and coach teams on agile or hybrid execution methodologies, ensuring tools are adopted and maintained.
- Identify bottlenecks and resolve cross-functional friction, enabling the team to operate at their best.
- Tackle the high-priority "messy" problems that don't have a natural home-from vetting a new international market to supporting a critical vendor negotiation.
- Gather and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data to make informed operational decisions.
- Own communications from the CEO's office to internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare board materials, investor updates, and structured internal reporting.
- Review NDAs, MSAs, partnership and vendor agreements before counsel review.
Experience & Qualifications
- 4-6 years in Chief of Staff, consulting, operations, PMO, or legal/contract-heavy roles.
- Demonstrated success implementing systems and improving execution discipline.
- Strong fluency in structured planning tools (Gantt, critical path, project dashboards).
- Experience training teams to adopt tools and ways of working.
- Comfortable reading and redlining contracts.
- Exceptional organization and written communication skills.
- Highly process-oriented and structured.
- Calm, rigorous, and detail-driven.
- Comfortable enforcing accountability without creating bureaucracy.
- Low ego, high ownership.
- Mission-driven and excited about climate infrastructure.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is $120,000-$170,000 commensurate with experience and location. We offer a competitive benefits package with multiple health insurance options including 100% covered plan, vacation, retirement, and equity options.
