About the Client:
Metric Geo is partnered with a specialty chemical manufacturer that provides water treatment solutions to commercial and industrial customers. The company develops and supplies chemical treatment programs designed to improve water quality, optimize system performance, and protect critical infrastructure across a range of industries.
They are currently expanding their field service team to support customers throughout the Midwest/Southern region, with a primary focus in the Louisville, Kentucky area.
Water Treatment Specialist / Engineer:
The Water Treatment Specialist will support customers by managing water treatment programs across multiple industrial and commercial facilities. This role combines technical service, field engineering, and business development, working directly with operators and facility managers to ensure water systems are operating efficiently and safely.
The position involves performing water analysis, optimizing chemical treatment programs, maintaining treatment equipment, and identifying opportunities for new business. The individual will work independently while collaborating with regional leadership and technical teams.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred
· 2+ years of experience in water treatment, boiler/cooling water systems, or industrial service roles preferred
· Experience with boilers, cooling towers, filtration, water softeners, or reverse osmosis systems is a plus
· Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment
· Candidates with military technical training (e.g., Navy Nuclear programs) (not required)
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform water analysis and system testing at customer facilities
· Review operating data and recommend adjustments to treatment programs
· Service and adjust chemical feed and control equipment
· Maintain chemical inventory and coordinate product orders
· Prepare technical service reports and maintain documentation
· Conduct site surveys and system assessments for new and existing customers
· Develop and implement water management plans, including Legionella risk mitigation
· Identify and pursue opportunities for new account development within the territory
Skills / Personal Qualifications:
· Knowledge of boiler and cooling water treatment programs
· Strong troubleshooting ability within mechanical or fluid systems
· Ability to work independently while managing multiple customer sites
· Strong communication skills when working with plant operators and facility teams
· Organized and proactive with a customer-focused mindset

· Role requires regional travel to customer facilities
· Combination of base salary, expense reimbursement, vehicle allowance, and commission structure
