AST Environmental, Inc., a leading national environmental remediation company, is looking for an entry-level (0–3 years) Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our elite In-Situ Remediation Group.
Unlike many entry-level roles that spend months just pulling water samples, this position is hands-on from Day 1. You will be on the front lines, operating specialized equipment to inject chemical reagents into the subsurface for the destruction of contaminants. You aren't just observing the problem; you are the one fixing it.
The Reality of the Role (Read Before Applying)
- The Schedule: This is a "Road Warrior" position. Approximately 80% of your work is out-of-state. You will be traveling to project sites across the country, working with experienced teams to execute complex remediation designs.
- The Work: This is a physically demanding, technical role. You will be outdoors, working with machinery, managing reagent mixing, and monitoring injection pressures and flows.
- The Future: While the primary focus of this role is the implementation and injection of technologies, AST values internal growth. Applicants who demonstrate high aptitude and a deep understanding of subsurface behavior will have future opportunities to transition into site investigation, high-resolution sampling, and conceptual model development.
What You Will Do:
- In-Situ Implementation: Support and execute the injection of chemical reagents for groundwater and soil remediation.
- Technical Operations: Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of specialized injection equipment and mixing systems.
- Data Management: Record real-time field data (pressures, flow rates, volumes) to ensure projects are meeting design specifications.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment while interfacing with project managers and clients on-site.
Qualifications:
- Education: B.S. in Engineering, Geology, or a related Earth Science.
- Character: You must be "field-tough"—comfortable working in various weather conditions and physically fit for active field labor.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers is required; mechanical aptitude or experience with electrical systems, plumbing, metal fabrication, and mechanical systems like pumps is a major plus.
- Requirements: Must pass a drug test, background check, and OSHA physical.
- Travel: Must have a valid driver's license and a genuine desire for heavy regional and national travel.
