Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator at Grade 4 or higher to join our team in south east Massachusetts . In this role, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of water treatment processes, optimize equipment performance, and support sustainable water management practices.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems, including small package plants and A/I systems. to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform repairs on pumps, valves, filters, and other treatment plant machinery.
- Collect, analyze, and record data related to water quality parameters, flow rates, chemical dosing, and system efficiency.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist in construction projects or upgrades.
- Maintain accurate logs of operations, incidents, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Experience
experience with wastewater treatment facilities at Grade 4 or higher certification level.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing pumps, valves, PLCs, DCS systems, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with water treatment processes including chemical dosing, filtration, aeration, and sludge management.
- Basic math skills for data analysis, process calculations, and troubleshooting systems.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and general maintenance practices within waste water treatment settings.
