Position Summary:
SJRA is seeking a
Water/Wastewater Compliance Analyst to join our dynamic team. This critical role will support our mission by ensuring compliance with water and wastewater regulations, assisting with data analysis and reporting, and collaborating with regulatory officials, engineers, and operational teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water quality, compliance management, and regulatory reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Reporting: Assist with the submittal, organization, and filing of operational records. Ensure timely preparation and submission of reports to local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Review, organize, and interpret water and wastewater quality data, including statistical analysis and graphical presentations.
- Process Evaluation: Evaluate operational functions, processes, chemicals, and asset performance. Recommend improvements in practices or products to enhance efficiency.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with staff to identify technological improvements, such as software and instrumentation, that enhance operations.
- Customer Relations: Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding water or wastewater quality issues.
- Regulatory Engagement: Attend regulatory and professional meetings, maintaining a current knowledge of industry procedures, practices, and quality control standards.
- Database Management: Maintain and update the Groundwater Reduction Plan (GRP) Participant database, including the addition/removal of wells and participant boundaries.
- Project Support: Provide input and support for regulated environmental programs, policies, and long-term planning.
- Facility Inspections: Conduct routine facility checks to ensure readiness for inspection and ensure equipment is well-maintained.
- Essential Personnel: As primary essential personnel, you will be required to work during emergency events, preparation for emergencies, or recovery, as directed by management.
Required Qualifications: - Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 6+ years of progressively responsible experience in water and wastewater system operations, capital improvements, and regulatory compliance.
- Licensing:
- TCEQ Class B Groundwater Operator (Required)
- TCEQ Class B Wastewater Operator (Required)
- TCEQ Class A Water Operator (Preferred)
- TCEQ Class A Wastewater Operator (Preferred)
- Driver's License: Valid Texas Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
