ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs a variety of duties and monitors the treatment process by chemical, physical and visual analysis
and adjusting operating parameters accordingly under the supervision of the superintendent and/or
chief operator.
- Participate in the performance of periodic plant operation integrity and safety tests to verify proper
operation of plant process.
- Routes flow of water at treatment plant.
- Regulates and helps maintain records of flow, tank level, chemical feed rates, etc., between various stages
of treatment.
- Collects samples to evaluate treatment processes and records data from meters and gauges.
- Briefs the operators, lead operator and water operations manager of activities performed, or situations
encountered during shift operation.
- Keeps inventory of chemical usages and dosages.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepares written and verbal reports.
- Performs various grounds maintenance and housekeeping duties as directed.
- Performs minor preventative maintenance, as directed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Trainee:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to obtain a Class "C" Water Treatment Plant Operators License within two (2) years
- Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire
Operator:
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Possession of a Class "A", "B", or "C" Water Treatment Plant Operators License as issued by the State of Florida
- Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire
Compensation Details:
Treatment Plant Operator Trainee Starting Pay: $22.15
Treatment Plant Operator C Starting Pay: $23.70
Treatment Plant Operator B Starting Pay: $25.36
Treatment Plant Operator A Starting Pay: $27.13
