Role Description The Data Center Water Treatment Technician is a full-time hybrid role based in Eagle Mountain, UT, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for startup, commissioning and maintaining water treatment systems that support data center operations, including chemical program implementation, sampling, and testing of water quality. The technician will perform adjustments to treatment processes, document system performance, and support troubleshooting to ensure reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. Daily tasks include operating treatment equipment, coordinating with data center and vendor teams, maintaining accurate records, and following standard operating procedures. The role also involves reporting findings, recommending improvements, and supporting preventive maintenance activities to optimize system efficiency and protect critical infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Water Testing and Analytical Skills to accurately monitor, interpret, and document water quality data.
- Candidates should possess skills in Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment to operate, adjust, and maintain treatment systems in an industrial or data center environment.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with operations teams, vendors, and management, and to prepare clear reports and documentation.
- Experience with industrial water treatment systems, cooling towers, and closed-loop systems is beneficial.
- Relevant technical or vocational training in environmental science, chemistry, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to follow safety protocols, work with mechanical and monitoring equipment, and respond to alarms or system issues in a timely manner.
- Comfort working in a data center or industrial setting, with willingness to work on-site as required in a hybrid arrangement.
