Role Description The Water Treatment Operator – Class 2 role at Hr HelpDesk is a full-time, remote position supporting the safe and efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment systems. In this role, the operator monitors treatment processes, reviews performance data, and adjusts system controls to maintain regulatory compliance and water quality standards. Daily tasks include coordinating plant operations, overseeing pump station performance, and supporting troubleshooting activities related to treatment equipment and process control systems. The operator documents operational metrics, prepares basic reports, and communicates with supervisors or client teams regarding system status and any operational concerns. The position requires consistent attention to safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and collaboration with remote colleagues and client representatives.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Plant Operations and Pump Stations, with the ability to monitor, adjust, and optimize equipment and system performance.
- Demonstrated experience in Water Treatment, including understanding of treatment methods, water quality parameters, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in Wastewater Treatment, with familiarity in collection, treatment processes, and discharge standards.
- Proficiency in Process Control, including use of SCADA or similar systems to track data, identify trends, and implement operational adjustments.
- Relevant technical certification or Class 2 operator license (or eligibility to obtain), according to applicable jurisdictional requirements.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, logs, and regulatory guidelines, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose operational issues and recommend safe, effective solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with dispersed teams.
- Basic computer literacy, including experience with spreadsheets, reporting tools, and remote communication platforms.
