CRB Geological & Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist / Environmental Project Manager to join our growing team in Miami. This position is ideal for an environmental professional with 3–6 years of consulting experience who enjoys both technical field work and project management.
For more than 34 years, CRB has provided environmental consulting services to commercial real estate professionals, lenders, developers, attorneys, municipalities, and facility owners throughout the United States. Our work includes ASTM E1527-21 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, environmental due diligence, groundwater and soil investigations, remediation, regulatory compliance, indoor air quality, asbestos, mold, and industrial hygiene services.
Unlike many firms where project managers transition into full-time office roles, our team remains actively involved in technical investigations. We're looking for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving environmental challenges, working directly with clients, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Perform ASTM E1527-21 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for commercial real estate transactions.
- Coordinate and support Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and environmental investigations.
- Conduct environmental field work, including soil sampling, groundwater sampling, monitoring well gauging and sampling, soil boring oversight, and site reconnaissance.
- Prepare field documentation, interpret laboratory analytical data, and develop technically defensible reports.
- Coordinate subcontractors, drilling contractors, laboratories, and field personnel.
- Manage environmental consulting projects, including schedules, budgets, client communication, and project deliverables.
- Work directly with lenders, developers, attorneys, property owners, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support remediation, corrective action, and regulatory compliance projects.
- Travel to project sites throughout Florida and occasionally throughout the Southeast as project needs require.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of environmental consulting experience.
- Considerable experience performing commercial Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
- Experience conducting groundwater sampling, soil sampling, and other environmental field investigations.
- Intimate working knowledge of ASTM E1527-21 and environmental due diligence standards.
- Considerable experience supporting or managing Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Strong technical writing, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
Preferred Additional Qualifications
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Experience with remediation or corrective action projects.
- Knowledge of Florida environmental regulations.
- Experience with underground storage tanks (USTs), contaminated site investigations, or brownfield redevelopment.
- Experience with indoor air quality, asbestos, mold, or industrial hygiene assessments.
