As a leader in the Maritime Ballast Water and other Water Services, we are growing and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a full-time Technical Advisor for Water Testing Services.
JOB SUMMARY
Water Services Technical Advisor will be the main point of contact for all Marine Water Testing clients. They will assist customers (internal and external) with scheduling of water sampling surveys and testing as per protocols set by IMO, EPA and other regulatory organizations, handle on site services, lab reports and technical issues related to Viswa Water Sampling and Testing scope. Maintain all databases and other records related to customer technical support. Conveying a positive, professional image at all times is a must.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Receives and processes request for all Water Services Clients, work using both internal resources and authorized service providers.
· Ensures all requests from clients and service providers for internal/external support are responded to timely.
· Receive customer technical / lab inquiries and actively respond in a timely manner.
· Provide water sampling on board as and when required.
· Help troubleshoot all sampling and testing issues according to the regulatory protocols and coordinate a response. Troubleshooting may be on the phone or over email.
· Process Reports and all necessary data timely to all clients.
· Maintain all required written and electronic files related to water services in co-ordination with the water services coordinator.
· Work with the Water Services Team to develop a quality control, testing and reporting protocol
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other science such as biology or Environmental science with significant coursework in general and analytical chemistry and a minimum two (2) years of related experience in water testing lab or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must utilize excellent communication skills.
- Must be computer literate and have familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
- Have a good general knowledge of Maritime Water Ballast and other Water Systems and Maritime regulations (IMO, EPA VGP etc)
