The Opportunity
The EHS Coordinator supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs throughout the facility. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements. The coordinator conducts inspections, evaluates hazards, recommends corrective actions, and partners with plant leadership to strengthen safety culture and operational performance.
Essential Functions
- The EHS Coordinator will assist the EHS Manager with training employees regarding safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify hazards, verify corrective actions, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assists in hazard analysis within the plant location and assists plant management teams in the development and execution of action plans for the improvement of safety and environmental performance.
- Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Glanbia non-negotiables.
- Maintains Plant Compliance Calendars.
- Monitor completion of all EHS and compliance training activities for the facility; Conduct training as required.
- Maintains OSHA plant logs, incident records, EHS compliance records using EHS Data management Systems (Intelex)
- Facilitates completion of Root cause analysis and incident investigations.
- Inspect work areas and machinery for compliance with OSHA and other compliance regulations as applicable
- Assist in Conducting Safety, Environmental and Regulatory audits of the facility in order to evaluate compliance, identify areas for improvement and communicates them directly to the department managers and the EHS Manager
- Assist with facilities inspections; help develop site specific environmental programs
- Assist with accident investigations and follow up; incident record keeping
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Perform a variety of projects as assigned by the EHS Manager
- Accompany employee(s) to the Occupational Health Clinic when injured.
- Assists with preparation of environmental reports including Tier II, Form R, Waste Water Discharge reports and storm water inspections.
- Provide GRMS audit coordination for the plant.
- Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Administration)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Skills You Will Bring To The Team
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 1-3 years of plant experience in related industry / manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to flex hours on occasion to support all shifts.
- Strong ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making ability without oversight / approval.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
