JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Purpose: The Water Service Coordinator is
responsible for overseeing service line inventories, assisting in
different water sampling programs, customer inquiries, ensuring
compliance with state and federal drinking water regulations, including
the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR/LCRR) and representing Racine Water in
public events. This role involves field sampling, laboratory support,
data management, customer communication, and cross-functional
coordination with operations, engineering, and regulatory staff. The
ideal candidate has hands-on experience with water quality disinfection
& sampling techniques, laboratory practices, and distribution system
operations. HIRING PAY RANGE: \$33.96 -\$36.96 (\$70,635 - \$76,868)
Essential Duties: Service Line Coordination & Compliance: Maintain and
update the system-wide water service line inventory, ensuring accuracy
and regulatory compliance. Coordinate service line inspections,
verifications, replacements, and customer notifications. Assist with
planning and implementing Lead and Copper Rule Revision (LCRR)
requirements. Schedule and track field activities related to service
line investigations and water quality monitoring. Water Sampling & Field
Operations: Perform water sampling throughout the distribution system,
including routine bacteriological samples, lead and copper samples,
water main breaks, customer-requested samples, and compliance
monitoring. Follow proper chain of custody procedures and ensure sample
integrity from collection to laboratory delivery. Disinfection and
sampling. Utilize field instruments (e.g., chlorine analyzers, turbidity
meters, pH meters) and properly calibrate and maintain equipment.
Conduct flushing operations and support water quality investigations.
Laboratory Responsibilities: Conduct basic laboratory analyses according
to approved methodologies (Standard Methods, EPA procedures). Prepare
media, reagents, and sampling kits as needed. Perform quality control
checks and maintain laboratory documentation. Assist with data entry
into laboratory information management systems (LIMS). Data Management &
Reporting: Collect, manage, and analyze water quality and service line
data. Prepare internal reports, regulatory submissions, and updates for
supervisors. Maintain accurate records of sampling locations, results,
and system conditions. Support GIS updates for service line materials
and sampling sites. Customer Service & Communication: Communicate with
customers about sampling, service line material identification, and
water quality concerns. Provide technical assistance regarding water
quality regulations and procedures. Coordinate with contractors and
field teams to resolve service line and water quality issues.
Representing Racine Water in public events. Physical Demands of the
Position: Ability to lift and carry up to 4050 lbs. Ability to walk,
stand, bend, and work in outdoor environments. Ability to work in
confined spaces or near construction sites, as applicable. Work
Environment: Combination of office, laboratory, and field work. Exposure
to water system facilities, treatment chemicals, and outdoor conditions.
Must be available for occasional after-hours sampling, emergency
response, or on-call rotations. Equipment Used: Software technology used
may include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Time Management Software

Bachelor\'s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Water
Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred. 35 years of
experience in water quality, environmental sampling, or laboratory
Operations Is Preferred. Experience With Water Distribution Systems Or
service line investigations strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities Required: Knowledge of drinking water regulations,
disinfection process, including the Safe Drinking Water Act and Lead and
Copper Rule. Proficiency in water sampling techniques and laboratory
testing methods. Ability to read and interpret maps, engineering
drawings, and GIS data. Strong organizational skills and attention to
detail. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, regulators,
and internal teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LIMS, GIS, and
work order systems. Ability to work independently, outdoors, and in
various field conditions. Follow all safety procedures for field work,
laboratory operations, and water system operations. Maintain
certifications and ensure sampling practices meet regulatory
requirements. Participate in emergency response activities (e.g., boil
