Job Description
Position Purpose:
Internships at Veolia: Gain hands-on experience in a certified Environmental Laboratory that tests drinking water and wastewater
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs routine tasks in Laboratory, such as monitoring of the Laboratory’s Deionized Water unit, washing and sterilizing tubes, plates, dishes, etc., used in Laboratory examinations of water samples.
- May assist in research or special projects in a variety of areas to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives.
- May assist with Laboratory analysis.
- Prepares media for bacterial examination of water.
- Operates the Laboratory’s steam autoclave.
- Updates Safety Data Sheet central file.
Work Environment:
- Environments vary by internship function.
- This position is mostly in the Laboratory, with some exposure to office to field to plant.
- Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Working towards a four year degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Related Major and should be in Senior status in their education.
- 3.0 Cumulative G.P.A required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
Additional Information
Pay Range: $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.
