Supervises employees performing preventive maintenance and repairs on water and wastewater treatment plant equipment. Assigns daily work activities and schedules preventive maintenance work orders. Ensures proper work methods and safety procedures are followed. Maintains inventory of essential parts, materials, and tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Supervisory functions include: makes hiring and termination decisions; prioritizes assignments and directs work; develops and oversees employee work schedules and approves time away from work; provides and/or facilitates employee training and development; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; completes employee performance appraisals; determines or makes recommendations regarding new hire salaries and salary changes; and acts as liaison between employees and management.
- Schedules work orders for preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Ensures work orders are complete and safety procedures are followed.
- Coordinates with Plant Management to address repairs and ongoing issues.
- Acquires quotes on materials, parts, and subcontracted work.
- Will be required to be on-call after hours, weekends, and holidays
- Will be required to respond after hours for waterline breaks and/or emergency repairs.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- At least five (5) years of experience in utility maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance of water or wastewater treatment plants
- At least two (2) years of supervising personnel
Valid Licenses and Certifications

- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
