The Field Inspector provides field operational support to Small Business and Nonprofit (Small Biz) Program staff. Primary Responsibilities and preferred qualifications are listed below.
Responsibilities
Inspect projects on-site for confirming existing conditions, before and after installation of a energy project.
Inspections will require traveling to project locations in NYC & Westchester County.
Coordinate with Contractors and Customers to schedule the Site Visit.
Coordinate with Contractor Managers & Engineers to keep them informed of the Schedule.
Record Keeping: Keep a record of site visits performed, notes, pictures and videos take, upload and keep them organized in the appropriate project folders
Program Support Provided
Training for Inspections will be provided by the Engineering Staff on initial inspections.
Expected to get keep notes, ask questions to clarify expectations.
Contractor Managers will provide relevant site contact information or contractor information. Inspector will be expected to follow-up with the information to schedule the inspection.
Preferred Qualifications
A proactive, self-starter attitude.
High School Degree.
Current & Valid USA Drivers License
Preferable but not required 1-2 years of experience in the inspections field
Must be able to communicate effectively with our customers over phone calls, emails and texts.
Must be able to work collaboratively with our engineering staff, program managers.
Must be able to take effective pictures, videos and compile inspection reports in Microsoft Word/Microsoft Excel/Adobe Acrobat PDF.
Knowledge of (or demonstrated interest and capacity to learn) energy efficient lighting technology and lighting controls, such as LED, occupancy sensors, daylighting, etc.
Knowledge of (or demonstrated interest and capacity to learn) HVAC equipment and mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, variable speed drives, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, and boilers.
