Full-Time Wastewater Treatment Operator (NPDES / POTW / Industrial)

We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator to support operations at POTW and industrial wastewater treatment facilities. This role focuses on system operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance under NPDES permits. Prior experience is preferred, but we will train qualified candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems at POTW and industrial facilities
- Ensure compliance with NPDES permit requirements
- Monitor and adjust treatment processes, including pumps, valves, blowers, clarifiers, and chemical feed systems
- Collect and analyze wastewater samples (pH, flow, BOD, TSS, COD, nutrients, residuals)
- Assist with Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs) and compliance documentation
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs
- Identify process upsets and assist with corrective actions
- Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records
- Follow all safety procedures, including confined space and lockout/tagout
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers
Qualifications
- Wastewater treatment experience at POTW or industrial facilities preferred (training available)
- Familiarity with NPDES permitting and compliance a plus
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills required
- Basic math skills for flow calculations and chemical dosing
- Knowledge of plumbing systems preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- State wastewater operator certification preferred or ability to obtain
