Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and driven
Project Manager Water/Wastewater to lead the successful execution of water and wastewater projects from design through construction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions within scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project delivery in alignment with defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Collaborate with internal disciplines and subconsultants to develop risk-adverse project scopes and fee structures.
- Develop project-specific management plans, including project schedules, quality management plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead subconsultant management, coordination, and integration into overall project workflow.
- Monitor project progress and performance; identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
- Prepare and manage extra work order requests and open-end task proposals.
- Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in financial review meetings and manage project financials, including invoicing and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients; understand client preferences and tailor project execution to meet expectations.
- Lead project status presentations and represent the project in client meetings.
- Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposal preparation, SMART Go/No-Go decisions, and interviews.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams to ensure quality and compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Mentor and coach team members through one-on-one meetings, feedback sessions, and project debriefs.
- Conduct continuous performance management including goal-setting, feedback, and development planning for team members.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- 10+ years of experience managing water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience delivering projects through all phasesfrom design to construction.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Team-oriented with excellent leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CAPM or PMP certification.
- Experience working with local or state government clients.
- Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods: Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
Working Conditions
- Primarily office-based (95%), with occasional field visits.
- Field work may involve outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, humidity, or arid climates.
- May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
