General Description of Duties:
- Attend departmental morning meeting
- Receive work orders daily, examine all tickets and prioritize
- Drive to assigned service areas. Maintain communication with Customer Service Representative for the Districts you are assigned to. Check in before leaving service areas and before returning to office at the end of the day.
- Document work done on tickets, turn in all tickets daily, complete and incomplete, in proper place.
Perform the Following Essential Tasks as Needed:
- Turn water on and off (lifting lids, torquing valve with key)
- Verify in-ground meter readings (bending, stooping)
- Lock in-ground meters (bending, stooping, lifting)
- Check for meter leaks, stuck meters, and inaccurate meters
- Assess sewer stoppages to determine responsible party
- Aid in relieving sewer stoppages
- Assess water leaks to determine responsible party
- Repair minor leaks
- Perform Sewer Inspections (kneeling, traversing uneven terrain)
- Perform Pre- and Post-Construction Inspections (bending, stooping)
- Install, replace or remove in-ground meters (digging, bending, torquing wrenches, lifting, pulling)
- Replace meter boxes and/or lids (digging, lifting)
Aid Construction and Operations departments as directed by supervisor
