Position Information
This is a part-time seasonal position assigned to the Cobb County Water System.
This position assists the Health Department with testing for West Nile.
Essential Functions
Inspect mosquito related complaints and follow up for compliance.
Collection of field specimens.
Maintain and monitor mosquito traps.
Distribute larvicide in high risk areas.
Distribute brochures in high risk areas.
Provide technical assistance in mosquito control strategies to the public.
Enters data into computer systems; logs, tracks, or maintains records regarding program activities; compiles data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; files, maintains, and stores hardcopy records.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Licenses and Certifications
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical Abilities
Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements
Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
