Summary:
Maintains the operation of WWTP(S), collection system and assists in mechanical repairs. To perform a variety of duties both skilled and semi-skilled. Collect samples, perform compliance testing and record data daily.
What you’ll do:
- Maintain plants and collection system operations
- Collect samples, perform compliance testing and record data daily
- Oversee and/or maintains preventative maintenance, maintenance on equipment and repair malfunctions at WWTP and collection system
- Oversee and/or performs ground keeping duties as assigned to include but not limited to mowing, weed eating and general yard work
- Work an on-call schedule, emergency calls and weekends as needed
- Keep records in reporting software
- Assist in training and mentoring new utility staff, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative, safety-first work environment
- Complete other duties as assigned
What you bring:
- 5+ years of experience in utility inspection, maintenance, or a related field
- Comprehensive knowledge of utility infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Proven experience in operations management and leadership within a utility or municipal setting
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, staff, and community members
- Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting software, with attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a variety of field and office environments
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to safety protocols
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl
- Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, and near moving mechanical parts
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
