North Texas Municipal Water District seeks an experienced manager and leader to serve as its next Engineering Manager. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field, plus at least 10 years’ supervisory experience in an Engineering Department or a closely related field. Public or private experience with design and construction in the field of water and wastewater systems will be considered.

All leaders in their own communities, District board members have historically brought with them an array of professional experience in banking, law, engineering, construction, science, education, and civic leadership. Supplying water to North Texas communities is how the District got its start — and decades after 10 neighboring cities recognized the benefit of pooling resources to obtain water rights and build the infrastructure necessary to provide water for thousands of residents, the District now serves safe, reliable drinking water to over 2.2 million people across 2,200 square miles.

The Engineering Department delivers engineering and construction projects that provide service to NTMWD members and customers. Reporting to the Assistant Deputy – Engineering, the Engineering Manager oversees the implementation of Water and Wastewater for the NTMWD. This includes providing oversight on the development of project scopes, selecting and onboarding consultants, procuring contractors, and coordinating with internal and external customers and vendors conducting business with the NTMWD.

To be considered for the Engineering Manager position, a candidate must be a Licensed Engineer in the State of Texas, or be able to obtain one within 12 months. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license or be able to obtain one within 12 months. This position requires moderate physical exertion and general physical mobility is required. May be subject to working conditions that include exposure to weather. May be subject to conditions that require respirators, venting hoods, and protective clothing. Equipment commonly used includes vehicles, computer, drafting equipment, and surveying equipment.

NTMWD is offering a salary range of $129,775 to $192,066 for this position, based on experience and qualifications.
