A Water/Wastewater Engineer is needed for a leading food processing organization. The Water/ Wastewater Engineer is responsible for leading water and wastewater engineering design projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and applying innovative solutions to pollutant removal, including emerging contaminants. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support permitting efforts, and develop essential project documentation.
A Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, or civil engineering, with a focus on water or wastewater treatment, is required. A minimum of 5+ years of direct experience in environmental engineering is necessary. Experience with biological treatment design and multi-disciplinary project teams is essential. Our client prefers candidates with experience designing water/ wastewater systems for poultry or related protein processing, and other related industrial experience will also be considered. This is a work-from-home position with 50% travel throughout the Southeast. Plants are in AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, NC, SC, TN, TX and VA.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee water/wastewater engineering design projects
- Provide design criteria and review external engineering designs for compliance and accuracy
- Develop feasibility studies, design documents, and cost estimates for treatment systems
- Support permitting with local, regional, and federal agencies
- Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams and interact with clients and regulatory bodies
- Oversee field investigations and provide construction support services
