Job Summary
We have an immediate need for an Operations Technician 1 or 2 located in
Carrollton, Georgia. This role is responsible for the daily operations of an industrial water treatment plant with responsibilities that include water treatment, clarifier, filters, and chemical treatment processes. We may hire at either level depending on Education, Experience and Skills. Apply even if you do not have all of the qualifications listed below.
Some of the work that you will do.
- Perform field rounds documenting operation status of gauges, meters, operating equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues. Quickly report items that additional resources are needed.
- Performs water sample collection, standard laboratory tests recording results. Use these results to make system changes to maintain overall treatment goals.
- Perform maintenance on equipment such as pumps, motors, instrumentation, etc.
- Operate and make operational changes to chemical feed equipment and other mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, etc.
- Maintains operations daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Represents WesTech and company standards.
- Understands the mechanical and scientific principles of each piece of equipment.
- Able to train and mentor other operators.
Here Are The Skills That You Need.
- Two (2) or more years of practical experience in water treatment plant operations
- Ability to pass a background, medical, drug, and/or other related screenings, as required by specific client locations.
- Ability to complete domestic travel, up to 10% for training or support other sites
- Commitment to safety and understanding of safety requirements
- Possess exceptional organization and communication skills
- Effectively work in a team environment
- General understanding of total suspended solids (TSS), turbidity, pH, sedimentation, general chemistry reactions and coagulation in order to determine and perform operational adjustments
- Ability to review Standard Operating Procedures, understand and follow.
- Ability to work with water treatment chemicals
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe and other basic office software to document operations
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record
Here Are The Skills That Will Set You Apart.
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering field or equivalent trade certification
- Prior experience as a water treatment operator
- State certification in water treatment
- Prior safety training(s)
- Four or more years of practical experience in water treatment plant operation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs,
- Ability to stand, bend, see, hear, speak,
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work with chemicals,
- Ability to work at computer/desk and lab table.
