Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer
Houston, TX | Currently remote | PE required
I’m working directly with the founder of a growing civil engineering firm in Houston to hire a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer.
They need someone who knows water plants, wastewater treatment plants and lift stations, and is comfortable taking that work from initial design through permitting and signed and sealed plans.
There’s work ready for this person, including facilities supporting large development and data center projects, alongside a private water-company client. You’d bring the water/wastewater expertise and work directly with the founder on how those projects are delivered.
What you’d be doing
- Lead the design of water plants, wastewater treatment plants and lift stations.
- Take projects from initial planning and calculations through final design and permitting.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, calculations and technical documents, with responsibility for signing and sealing your work.
- Handle TCEQ permitting and coordinate with the project team and relevant agencies.
- Provide technical direction on water and wastewater facilities across multiple projects.
What would make you a good fit
- An active PE license.
- Around 10 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in water and wastewater facility design.
- Experience independently delivering plant and lift station projects.
- Familiarity with TCEQ requirements and the permitting process.
- Comfortable working independently and staying closely connected with a small team.
Data center experience isn’t required. Your experience designing the water and wastewater infrastructure is what matters.
Why consider it?
You’d have a clear technical role in a growing firm, direct access to the founder and the opportunity to influence how its water/wastewater work develops. The projects include substantial, multi-year developments with real facility design needs.
The team currently works remotely. A Houston-area office and hybrid arrangement may be introduced as the business grows, so this should be viewed as a Houston-based opportunity.
If this sounds relevant, apply here or message me directly. Happy to have a confidential conversation about the projects, compensation and what you’d want from a move.
