Essential Responsibilities
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks, including completion of all related accurate documentation.
- Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots waste water treatment equipment and facility equipment including fans, valves, compressors, storage tanks, and pumps.
- Collects and tests water samples such as turbidity and pH and ensures treated water meets permit standards.
- Maintains facility air handlers and replace filters on scheduled frequency.
- Observes and reports any irregular mechanical operations and failures to supervisor immediately.
- Maintains clean equipment and work area.
- Assists maintenance department when needed.
- Participates in root cause analysis of equipment failure.
- Follows facility GMP and HSE guidelines.
- Affirms maintenance role in the HACCP procedure along with all other departments.
- Able to assess and function effectively in an ever-changing environment
Qualifications
- Education and/or Experience:
- Mechanical ability as defined.
- HS diploma or GED.
- Waste Water & Facility Maintenance experience.
- Demonstrated work experience in a food and/or manufacturing environment.
- Able to maintain presence of mind under stressful conditions and communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders.
- Ability to become forklift and aerial lift certified.
- Ability to learn procedures related to safe handling of chemicals and materials.
- Ability to be cross-trained to perform other mechanical jobs as needed.
- Appropriate English language ability in order to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
