GBA is looking for an entry-level civil engineer to support our Water Environment Group located in our Leander, TX office. GBA’s Water Department’s services includes master planning, design, and construction management services. This position will offer opportunities in the design of drinking water projects, distribution system studies, hydraulic modeling, pump station design, and water main design. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter with desire to jump in and learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with calculations, design drawings, and specifications for projects under senior staff
- Review existing reports and studies for information related to studies and design projects
- Prepare written studies and project design technical reports
- Create and update hydraulic computer models such as InfoWater
- Assist with construction observation services and project site visits
Required Education/Experience
- BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering degree
- Internship experience in drinking water systems is a plus
- Detail oriented and dedicated to quality work
- Possess effective communication skills both written and oral
- Must be able to work effectively both on a team and individually
- AutoCAD, Word, Excel; GIS Mapping software experience is a plus
- Ability to work on fast-paced projects
Travel
- Some occasional local day travel will be required.
- Some overnight travel may be necessary for this position.
