REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

Territory: NJ, NY, ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and CT territories
Our Client seeks a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Manager to cultivate business relationships with industry leaders, engineering firms, representatives, and distributors. The primary goal is to increase the visibility, specification, and installation of the company's products. This role includes developing and maintaining sales targets and strategies, participating in annual planning, and providing strong leadership and communication with staff and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support representative network through travel, presentations, technical information, and addressing inquiries.
- Actively promote all product lines to engineering firms, trade organizations, owners, and operators to enhance awareness of the company's name and capabilities.
- Prepare and submit trip reports.
- Participate in internal sales meetings, providing updates on upcoming projects and territory forecasts.
- Coordinate with Product Line Managers to provide budget quotes and pricing for projects to representatives, engineers, contractors, or end users.
- Review and comment on project or engineer’s specifications with Product Line Managers to enable competitive bidding.
- Assist in preparing bid proposals, advise on competitive situations, discuss margins, provide feedback, and collaborate with representatives to secure contracts.
- Maintain and update a database for all quotes and bids through to order completion, in coordination with Product Line Managers.
- Assist After-Market and Media Sales in pricing and strategy development.
- Prepare and update annual sales projections for the territory.
- Develop strategic and tactical plans to enhance sales and margins in the territory.
- Stay informed about the marketplace, competitive analysis, and industry trends.
- Manage Sales Engineers and Sales Support within the territory.
- Provide support to plant engineering and operating personnel.
- Participate in regional and national trade shows, assist with setup and teardown, follow up on leads, and advise the Marketing Manager on ROI.
- Assist Marketing with the design and distribution of electronic, print, and presentation materials.
- Assist Project Management with field service requirements such as tank measurement, inspection, training, systems troubleshooting, and evaluation, providing field feedback to Customer Service.
- Collaborate with Product Line Managers to acquire detailed engineering drawings and necessary information for project handover to Project Management.
- Work with the Contracts Administrator and Product Managers to secure acceptable purchase orders per bid proposals and customer requirements.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Department in obtaining payments when requested.
- Undertake independent projects as assigned by the Director of Sales.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering from a four-year college or university, with 5+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting plans, specifications, scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
- Skilled in writing speeches and articles for publication that adhere to prescribed styles and formats.
- Capable of preparing and presenting information effectively to customers, engineers, contractors, top management, public groups, and boards of directors.
- Proficient in preparing and using spreadsheets, calculating amounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and discounts, and preparing appropriate budgets.
- Adept at understanding customer needs, defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions, and presenting solutions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle several abstract and concrete variables.
- Territory to cover NJ, NY, ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and CT territories
- Must be able to travel within the USA and Canada, including field service visits to measure tanks and verify the correct installation and operation of products.
