EMI Services is hiring a Wastewater Operator to operate sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment in wastewater (sewage) treatment plants to control flow and processing of sewage, monitors controls panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage, observes variations in operating conditions and interprets meter and gauge readings, and tests results to determine load requirements. This worker starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators to control flow of raw sewage through filtering, settling, aeration and sludge digestion processes, maintains log of operations and records meter and gas reading, gives directions to wastewater treatment plant attendants and sewage-disposal workers in performing routine operations and maintenance, and may collect sewage sample, using dipper or bottle and conduct laboratory tests, using testing equipment, such as colorimeter. This person may operate and maintain power-generating equipment to provide steam and electricity for plant.
Salary
$37.57 plus $4.57 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities
Add Chemicals to the wastewater, such as chlorine, lime and ammonia
Cleans tanks and filter beds
Maintain and monitor pumps and equipment
Repairs, lubricates machines and equipment
Inspect pumps, sump pumps, ventilators and airs supplies; prime pumps as needed
Tests waste water samples
Read charts and gauges and record data monitoring plant processes
Perform other related duties as assigned
Essential Skills
Ability to use testing tools and equipment such as colorimeter, turbidimeter, conductivity meter
Effective oral and written communication skills
Effective technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used; applicable safety code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
Able to read and understand operation/equipment manuals.
Adaptable and flexible in work situations.
Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in the repair of HVAC equipment
including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements
High school or GED
Specialized training and experience in the trade of Water Operations/Sewage Plant Operations
Wastewater Certification III
Valid driver’s license
Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check to obtain base access
Reliable: wants to be part of a team
U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Preferred Qualifications
Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
OSHA 30
Physical Requirements
Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort
Some combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Some lifting to include overhead lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (10-20 pounds)
May occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 50 pounds)
