We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Wastewater Engineer with a strong background in pump station design and wastewater/stormwater hydraulic systems to join our headquarters team in
Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, including quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), procurement, and design. This role also requires skills in developing client relationships, proposal writing, and securing project funding.
Key Responsibilities
Pump Station Design: Lead the design and implementation of pump stations, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
Hydraulic Systems: Design and analyze water/wastewater/stormwater hydraulic systems to meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Project Management: Oversee project lifecycle from inception to completion, including QA/QC, procurement, and design phases.
Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
Proposal Writing: Prepare detailed and competitive proposals to secure new projects and funding opportunities.
Funding: Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships, to support project initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, master's degree a plus
- Typically requires 6+ years of experience in wastewater and stormwater engineering
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics for water and wastewater systems
- Strong understanding of water/wastewater/stormwater hydraulics systems and pump station design
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Connecticut (or the ability to obtain within 6-months)
- Funding experience with CTDEEP Clean Water Fund, USDA RD and DPH a plus
- Previous experience using AutoCAD and GIS
- Desire and ability to develop and mentor early career professional staff
