About the role:
As the Water Resources Team Lead you will hold a pivotal role within the Water Resources Department, helping to grow and lead a team. In this role, you will foster a collaborative work environment, provide mentorship to team members, and actively contribute to the overall growth and success of the department in the Louisville region. This position will involve project management and oversight, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery of project objectives, while developing and maintaining strong client relationships and adherence to quality standards.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Work with discipline and regional leadership to grow the Water Resources team and service line in the Louisville region
- Manage a team that may consist of engineers and other design staff.
- Lead and mentor junior-level engineers and other team members to aid in their development
- Leverage client contacts to assist with growing the service line in the region. Maintain and enhance relationships with existing clients, building new opportunities for business development
- Serve as a project manager with responsibility for wastewater, drinking water, and storm water projects
- Apply knowledge acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions
- Serve as a technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods
- Review operational practices to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures
- Perform QA/QC and ensure project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications
- May perform other duties as part of this role
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- 12+ years of experience in this discipline
- Extensive experience managing and designing wastewater, drinking water, and/or storm water projects
- Experience with project management and accounting software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
