The
Wastewater Operator – Level B is responsible for independently operating a wastewater treatment shift, performing equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. This role requires a valid Level II Wastewater Operator license and demonstrated proficiency in rebuilding primary clarifier (PC) pumps.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities and associated systems.
- Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, including proper use of PPE, identification and reporting of unsafe conditions, and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Process Safety Management (PSM) procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete compliance records as required by local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct process control laboratory testing and analysis.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater equipment, including rebuilding primary clarifier (PC) pumps.
Qualifications And Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of acceptable wastewater treatment plant operating experience.
- Valid Level II Wastewater Operator license (state-certified).
