Water Treatment Operator | Location: Cartersville, GA | Contract | Hourly Pay Range: $20-$23
Seeking a dedicated Water Treatment Operator / O&M Technician I to support water treatment operations within an industrial facility. This role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining water treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment, dewatering, processing, and disposal equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of pumps, valves, filters, tanks, and other treatment system components.
- Collect water samples and conduct laboratory and field testing to verify water quality and regulatory compliance.
- Adjust chemical feed rates, flow rates, and treatment processes based on system performance data.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on treatment equipment.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Record operating data, testing results, maintenance activities, and regulatory documentation accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with equipment startups, shutdowns, and emergency response activities as needed.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and environmental teams to support facility objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience operating water or wastewater treatment equipment in an industrial or municipal environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of water treatment processes, chemical handling, and equipment operation.
- Ability to perform water quality testing and interpret results.
- Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read gauges, meters, operating manuals, and process documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
