THIS POSITION IS ASSIGNED TO THE CONROE CENTRAL WASTEWATER PLANT
JOB SUMMARY
The Foreman supervises and performs the daily operations of the wastewater treatment process and laboratory testing and oversees the daily compliance sampling.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in operations of municipal wastewater treatment plants and process control test procedures. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Special Requirements:
Possession of a valid Class C Texas driver's license or higher required. Possession of Class B CDL is preferred or ability to obtain one. Must be able to obtain a Class "B" Wastewater Certification within 18 months of hire. Must be able to lift weights of 50 pounds and 100 pounds with assistance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of operation, maintenance and repair of pumps and control systems of a wastewater treatment facility.
- Knowledge of City of Conroe policies and procedures.
- Skills in conducting laboratory process control testing.
- Skill in communicating well with supervisors, subordinates and public
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports to remain in compliance with the discharge permit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is very heavy and requires the ability to exert 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
