Job Title: Wastewater Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Environmental, Health & Safety
Reports to: WW Foreman
Position: Night shift
Position Summary:
The Wastewater Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining various wastewater systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations while monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting equipment and processes that treat and manage wastewater in compliance with environmental regulations and facility standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Wastewater Treatment Building and Outside System
- Responsible for monitoring chemicals and replenishing when needed
- Monitor water quality compliance from EP Wastewater Discharge, Wastewater treatment building and Outside wastewater system
- Collect data on Systems and perform specific checks
- Investigate all issues and determine root cause of failure
- Perform periodic replacements of pumps, sensors and plumbing as needed
- Report findings to Foreman, Engineering Tech and Engineer when necessary
- Provide detailed pass downs to the incoming shift via email and verbally.
- Maintaining inventory of spare parts for the department to perform accurate repairs
- Maintain good safe working practices
- Organize and maintain work areas for a good 5S
- Perform all duties necessary in creating an efficient, effective, and affordable Wastewater department
- Will perform other functions as required

Education and Experience:
- 1 Year Industrial Maintenance experience
- Minimum of 1-year experience in Wastewater systems (Preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2-year college degree (preferred)
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Requires constant physical activity throughout shift such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Flexible work schedule as needed with adequate notification. Always maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
