PeopleService is seeking a certified water/wastewater operator or a candidate who is not afraid to work hard, possesses initiative to get the job done and possesses a strong mechanical background and aptitude to repair/replace/maintain submersible and grinder pumps to work in our Garrison Hub. PeopleService will provide on-the-job training and assist in becoming a certified water/wastewater operator.
Water is a vital resource for consumers and the environment - just think if you didn't have water to drink or wash, or have water to swim or fish. PeopleService is a key player in protecting this valuable resource through water/wastewater treatment. No two days are alike so there is always variety in your work day, your mind will also be challenged but the end result is very rewarding.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to,
- Adding chemicals to disinfect water or other liquids.
- Monitor operating conditions with the use of meters and gauges.
- Collect, test and analyze water and sewage samples.
- Record meter and gauge readings and operational data.
- Document and report test results to regulatory agencies.
- Repair, maintain, and clean equipment, tanks, filter beds, lift stations, as well as other work areas.
- Follow EPA regulations, as well as state regulations and company procedures.

Ideal candidate would possess a C wastewater and/or D water certification
- - will also consider candidates who have related work experience in pump repair, plumbing, pipelaying, hydraulics, repairing farm-related equipment - or an Associates degree in a WET program.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with clean driving record (no DUI in the past 5 years or excessive traffic violations)
- Required to live within a 30-minute response time of Garrison.
- Excellent public relations skills using tact and diplomacy.
- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to complete the workload without daily on-site supervision.
- Ability to operate a variety of technical and general office equipment, including SCADA, telemetry, computer, printer, iPhone, copier, etc.
- Attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, and may be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, gases, chemicals, solvents, grease or oils, electrical energy, slippery surfaces, uneven surfaces, or with moving objects and odors, as well as confined spaces.
Salary is dependent upon certification and experience.
