Operations Technician
Objective: To ensure that safe, dependable, high quality of service is consistently delivered to the subscribers, and to perform all assigned tasks 24 hours/day 365 days/year.
Responsibilities
- This position has no Supervisory responsibility.
- This position requires dual responsibility for general water treatment and distribution operations as well as certain technical items described below.
Subordinate:
- Will report to and receive instruction from the Superintendent of Operations or General Manager.
- Will not reserve any discretionary powers not addressed in this job description unless specifically assigned by the Superintendent or General Manager.
- Will attend to the concerns of the general membership as required in a manner necessary to maintain a congenial working relationship with membership and the general public.
- Will perform all tasks in accordance with the Bylaws, Policies, and Standing Operating Procedures of CRWC.
Technical:
- Will perform all necessary tasks associated with the general operation and maintenance of the pumping, treatment, and distribution systems with specific influence on the installation, maintenance, and understanding of electrical and electronic equipment and controls.
- Will be required to have or ability to develop skills with certain proprietary systems including PLC and SCADA equipment and software.
- Will be required to obtain and maintain certain Water System Operator’s certifications.

- Social skills in dealing with the general public and co-workers.
- Attention to detail.
- A clean driving record with no alcohol or drug related offenses.
- The ability to lift heavy objects, stand, walk, bend, climb, and work for extended periods of time in a hostile environment as may be encountered working in an open trench in inclement weather.
- The ability to obtain the level of certification required by the State of Maryland
- The ability to maintain competency to perform all tasks assigned.
- The ability to work on or around heavy equipment.
- The ability to safely self-direct and motivate toward any task at hand.
- The ability to respond to emergency situations at any hour of the day including weekends and holidays and during periods of inclement weather.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
