Responsibilities
- Supervising all wastewater treatment processes (e.g., activated sludge, trickling filters, RBCs, sludge digestion, nitrification/de-nitrification, phosphorus removal)
- Overseeing plant operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting across all treatment stages.
- Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.
- Managing staff and coordinating with other departments.
- Perform heavy equipment operation such as tanker trucks for chemical deliveries or sludge removal, adhering to safety protocols.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks and perform basic math calculations necessary for process adjustments and inventory management.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair treatment equipment effectively.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in water treatment facilities.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, water quality standards, and environmental regulations.
- Skilled in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support operational decision-making.
- Capable of heavy lifting and operating heavy machinery safely in a plant environment.
- Proficient in plumbing repairs, equipment maintenance, and general construction tasks related to plant infrastructure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and the ability to perform basic math accurately under pressure.
