Job Summary
Pay: $25.00 per hour
We are seeking a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to support the operation and maintenance of a municipal wastewater facility in Walla Walla, WA. This role is responsible for monitoring plant operations, performing maintenance, collecting samples, and ensuring treatment processes operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment systems and equipment
- Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment
- Collect samples and perform basic laboratory testing
- Monitor SCADA systems, gauges, and meter readings
- Adjust treatment processes and troubleshoot operational issues
- Maintain shift logs, reports, and operational records
- Enter data into maintenance and reporting systems
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Washington State Level I Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months
- Valid driver’s license
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of safe work practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with pumps or mechanical equipment
- Class B CDL for biosolids application
- Experience with SCADA systems and plant PLCs
- Experience operating water or wastewater treatment facilities
