Position Summary
Join a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of a wastewater treatment plant serving the community. In this role, you will help protect local waterways, support environmental compliance, and keep critical infrastructure running smoothly in accordance with Ohio EPA (OEPA) standards.
This is a hands-on, technical position with strong opportunities to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in wastewater operations.
What You’ll Do
You will play a key role in the daily operation and performance of a modern wastewater treatment facility, including:
Plant Operations
- Operate and monitor treatment systems including lift stations, screening equipment, and treatment processes (primary, secondary, and tertiary)
- Adjust flows and process controls to ensure efficient and compliant plant performance
- Maintain treatment systems such as filters, chlorination, sludge handling, and activated sludge processes
- Perform routine tasks such as cleaning equipment, handling chemicals, and supporting system optimization
Maintenance & Equipment Care
- Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment
- Assist with repairs and troubleshooting of plant systems and chemical feed equipment
- Support overall facility upkeep and reliability
Laboratory Testing & Compliance
- Conduct daily water quality testing (pH, ammonia, chlorine residual, solids, turbidity, etc.)
- Collect and analyze influent and effluent samples to ensure regulatory compliance
- Help maintain high standards for environmental performance and reporting accuracy
Recordkeeping & Communication
- Maintain accurate operational logs and compliance records
- Prepare daily and monthly reports
- Respond to inquiries and support smooth communication within the department

Rate:
- Starting pay: $25.24/hour (increase to $26.27 after 1 year)
- Shift differentials:
- $0.60/hr (2nd Shift)
- $0.70/hr (3rd Shift)
- $1.50/hr (Weekend shifts)

Shifts Available
- 2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- 3rd Shift: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Ohio driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of insurance
- Ability to obtain Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater Operator License within 2 years (training and support provided)
