ENTRY SALARY
Candidates with current Wastewater Plant Operator licenses are also eligible to be hired at the following rates:
- Wastewater Plant Operator "A" - $65,226.82 annually
- Wastewater Plant Operator "B" - $59,162.74 annually
- Wastewater Plant Operator "C" - $53,662.26 annually
POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED.
Under direct supervision, the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator C performs skilled, manual labor in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, sludge handling facility, reclaim system and surrounding grounds during assigned shifts. Provides oversight to trainees with extensive hands-on operations of various biological and chemical processes.
WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR A
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class "A" Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License.
Ability to obtain a forklift license.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, G.E.D. Certificate supplemented by courses in wastewater treatment technology, personnel supervision, bacteriology, microbiology, general science and chemistry; and
Five (5) years of experience working in a wastewater facility of the complexity and size of those operated by Public Utilities;
One (1) year of experience supervising wastewater plant operations personnel preferred;
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR B
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class "B" Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License.
The ability to obtain a forklift license.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or G.E.D. Certificate supplemented by courses in wastewater plant operations and maintenance technology, bacteriology, general science and chemistry; and
Three (3) years of experience working in a wastewater facility;
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
WASTEWATER PLANT OPERATOR C
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is required.
Florida Department of Environmental Protection Class "C" Wastewater Plant Operator License.
Ability to obtain a forklift license.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma, High School Equivalency Diploma, or G.E.D. Certificate supplemented by courses in bacteriology, general science, microbiology, chemistry and wastewater plant operations and maintenance; and
One (1) year of experience working in a wastewater treatment facility;
OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
