Here's The Role
We are seeking an ambitious candidate for our open Plant Water Technician II to join our team! This intermediate-level position will work closely with skilled colleagues in water production, analysis and treatment. You’ll work in a coal-fired power plant environment with opportunities to develop your skills through structured work assignments and on-the-job training. How You’ll Contribute
- Follow strict safety policies and procedures while performing water lab technician duties.
- Operate and monitor water pre-treatment, reverse osmosis and demineralizer production processes.
- Monitor and respond to water chemistry in the plant’s water and steam cycle according to establish protocols.
- Monitor, sample and respond to flue gas desulfurization processes according to established procedures.
How You’re Qualified
- Five or more years of experience in chemistry related to the operation of gas or coal-fired power plants or other similar environment, such as water/wastewater treatment, environmental analysis, lab chemistry, condensate polishing and flue-gas desulfurization or other relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in chemistry, biology, environmental technology, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
How You’ll Stand Out
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.
- Class C Wastewater Systems certification from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
- Experience with power plant water chemistry and water treatment systems.
- Ability to adhere to vital safety and environmental procedures and policies.
- Ability to operate collaboratively within a team environment.
