Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Water & Wastewater System Operator to join our team. This role involves managing and maintaining water and wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with environmental standards and operational efficiency. Duties
- Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment processes
- Perform routine equipment repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting on treatment plant machinery and equipment
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to water quality, flow rates, and system performance for reporting purposes
- Collect water and wastewater samples from treatment systems to submit according to regulatory requirements
- Manage chemical dosing, filtration, aeration, and other treatment processes to meet regulatory standards
- Conduct inspections of tanks, pipelines, plumbing systems, and mechanical components to identify issues early
- Assist with construction or installation projects related to system upgrades or repairs
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely during maintenance or installation activities
- Maintain accurate records of system operations, repairs, and inspections in compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
- No experience necessary; we will train, however:
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, plumbing, and general maintenance is a plus
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations, and data analysis
- Experience in construction, maintenance, plumbing and electrical work is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check
Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
