Responsibilities
- Operate and control water treatment and wastewater facilities using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform repairs on pumps, valves, filters, and other treatment infrastructure.
- Collect and analyze data related to water quality parameters, flow rates, chemical levels, and system performance to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor heavy equipment operation such as tankers and construction machinery involved in plant maintenance or upgrades.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, mechanical adjustments, and equipment calibration to maximize operational efficiency.
- Manage heavy lifting tasks safely during equipment installation or replacement projects while adhering to safety protocols.
- Document operational activities, maintenance records, and incident reports accurately for regulatory audits and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Valid dual licenses for Drinking Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment issued by the appropriate regulatory agency.
- Experience operating programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) in water or wastewater facilities.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment.
- Familiarity with water treatment processes including filtration, disinfection, chemical dosing, and sludge management.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for chemical dosages, flow measurements, and data analysis.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, heavy equipment operation, construction tasks, and performing routine maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of plumbing systems and general maintenance procedures required for facility upkeep.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for data collection and quality assurance purposes. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
