Job Summary
The HSE Engineer supports the Company HSE Manager / Project HSE Manager in implementing and maintaining the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System. The role involves assisting in the planning, execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of HSE activities on site to ensure that project HSE objectives and targets are achieved in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Implementation & Compliance
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives in alignment with company Integrated Management System (IMS).
Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe practices.
- Raise observation reports and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and tracked.
- Report HSE violations and recommend corrective actions.
Training & Awareness
- Arrange, conduct, and participate in HSE training sessions, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
- Participate in HSE Committee and coordination meetings.
Advisory & Supervision
- Advise supervisors and site personnel on accident prevention and safe work methods.
- Assist in leading and supervising HSE Officers on site.
Incident Management
- Participate in incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure proper documentation and closure of incidents in accordance with company procedures.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of local (Qatar) and international HSE regulations and standards.
- Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Knowledge of environmental regulations (air quality, wastewater, hazardous waste).
- Understanding of chemical material management and MSDS.
- Knowledge of pollution prevention and waste minimization practices.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of total experience in HSE.
- At least 3 years of relevant project/site experience.
- GCC experience (minimum 2 years) is an advantage.
