Pay: $15.05/hour
Description
Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment critical to the efficient functioning of the treatment facility. This role plays a vital role in ensuring the continuous operation of equipment and systems essential for wastewater treatment processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical education or certification in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation maintenance preferred.
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance is required, preferably in a wastewater treatment or similar process industry.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License (Class C) at time of placement.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems, including troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures.
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics to interpret equipment specifications and diagnose issues.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, contractors, and vendors.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, conveyors, blowers, and control systems, to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform corrective repairs using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and schematics to identify and address root causes of issues.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential problems, safety hazards, and maintenance needs, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment and upgrades, collaborating with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Provide training and guidance to plant personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety practices to promote skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Other duties as assigned.
