Responsibilities:
Responsible for running various tests and recording results of the test; Tests may include pH,
turbidity, chlorine, residual, total organic carbon, and other water examination tests.
Record and document test readings and results from samples.
Document processes and maintenance of facility equipment. Set-up and calibrate equipment;
Ensure all equipment is operating correctly.
Lubricate and repair equipment, pumps, motors, etc.
Tear down and clean pumps to prevent clogs.
Clean and bleach weirs.
Clean clarifiers.
Operates water plant as needed including backwashing filters and adjusting chemical dosage
rates as needed.
Care and maintenance of grounds and buildings; Mow, weed-eat.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
GENERAL
Experience:
- Previous experience in water treatment or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with logic controllers and distributed control systems is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Knowledge of basic math for calculations and measurements
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and repairs
- Experience with wastewater treatment processes is beneficial
- Ability to plumb and connect pipes, valves, and tanks
