Job Description
Position Purpose:
To insure inbound material are properly sampled, inspected, tested, coded, labeled for facility processing in
compliance with permits and waste analysis plan.
Primary Duties /Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing routine tasks and analyses on hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and product samples in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Sample inbound waste material & site generated materials.
- Prepare composite samples for Laboratory testing.
- Code material based on Waste Information Profile (WIP) for facility handing and processing.
- Record and enter facility processing codes into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Create sample identification labels.
- Facilitate communication to resolve paperwork issues for incoming material.
- Follow plant safety procedures including use and understanding of proper PPE for drum checking and sampling.
- Assists in compiling and reporting of analysis date including QA/QC data for review.
Work Environment:
Working outdoors 90% of the time.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background:
- High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent required.
- Related work experience of 1 to 2 years in the hazardous waste industry is preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Strong team player.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
- Computer literate.
- Self-motivated.
Required Certification / Licenses / Training:
- 24 HAZWOPER Training.
- Chemical Hygiene Training.
Additional Information
Hourly Pay Range: Minimum of $25 to a maximum of $26
