Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Water System Operator to oversee and maintain water treatment and distribution systems. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities, utilizing advanced control systems, performing equipment repairs, and conducting data analysis to meet regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to operate heavy equipment and perform heavy lifting as needed. Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal system performance.
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on water treatment equipment, pumps, valves, and plumbing systems.
- Collect and analyze data related to water quality, system efficiency, and operational parameters to identify issues or areas for improvement.
- Manage heavy equipment operation including tanker trucks and construction machinery for system upgrades or repairs.
- Perform heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely during maintenance or installation projects.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures or system malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and data logs in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with wastewater treatment processes ensuring environmental compliance and safety protocols are followed.
- Support construction projects related to water infrastructure upgrades or new installations as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, plumbing, and general maintenance.
- Familiarity with water treatment processes, wastewater management, and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform data collection, analysis, and basic math calculations accurately.
- Knowledge of tankers, heavy lifting procedures, and construction practices related to water infrastructure is preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and work in various environmental conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and adherence to regulatory standards. This position is integral to maintaining safe drinking water supplies and protecting environmental health through diligent operation of complex water systems.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
