The work is primarily indoors, with some tasks performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors operational conditions of the facility, and recommends and sometimes directs adjustments, as needed;
- Observes and acts on meter and gauge readings, and test results, to determine optimal Plant performance;
- Controls flows throughout the facility, through means of operating control pumps, valves and engines throughout the facility;
- Prepares and maintains daily operational reports;
- Collects samples and conducts laboratory analyses, when required;
- Works unusual shifts and days-off schedules, as required by a 24/7 operation;
- Makes regular rounds of the facility, and checks computer output on a regular schedule, to ensure proper plant operation;
- Monitors computer systems for unusual or alarm conditions, and takes appropriate corrective action;
- Operates the raw water system, and adjusts flow to maintain the appropriate clear well storage volume;
- Operates rapid sand filters, including on/off and backwash;
- Performs plant data entry, including laboratory analyses and chemical feed data, for EPA reporting and plant operations records;
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role or relevant field is preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Schedule:
This position follows a structured rotating schedule consisting of daytime, evening, and overnight shifts. The rotation begins with six consecutive daytime shifts, Tuesday through Sunday, scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by two days off. The employee will then work seven consecutive evening shifts, Wednesday through Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., followed by one day off. The employee will then work an overnight shift which consists of two overnight shifts, Thursday and Friday, from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., followed by three scheduled days off. After completing all shifts, the cycle repeats.
Work Schedule (Repeating Cycle)
Work Days: Tuesday – Sunday (6 consecutive days)
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Then: Off Monday – Tuesday (2 days)
Evening Shift – Shift differential of $1.40 per hour
Work Days: Wednesday – Tuesday (7 consecutive days)
Hours: 4:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
Then: Off the following Wednesday (1 day)
Overnight Shift - Shift differential of $1.00 per hour
Work Days: Thursday – Friday (2 consecutive days)
Hours: 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Then: Off Saturday – Monday (3 days)
_ After the Overnight shift, the schedule returns the Day shift of Tuesday – Sunday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m._
